Court records also indicate he has been charged in a criminal sexual conduct case. Authorities first learned of the allegations earlier this month.

He made his first appearance in Olmsted County Court in both cases on Thursday. Court documents say Rochester police learned of the sexually explicit images while investigating the sexual assault case.

The criminal complaint says the victim in the sexual assault case indicated to police that Sandmeyer had sexually explicit photos of a 17-year-old girl on his phone.

Investigators then found the photos on Sandmeyer’s phone. Police spoke with the victim, who said Sandmeyer would send her money in exchange for sexually explicit photos of herself that she sent over Snapchat, according to the complaint.

Sandmeyer admitted to sending the victim $20 for food and said the photos sufficed as a repayment. The complaint also says Sandmeyer sent the teen girl money three times.

Sexual Assault Case

Along with the child pornography charges Sandmeyer is also accused of sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman multiple times last month.

The victim in that case told police that she did not consent to having sex with Sandmeyer while she was intoxicated, according to the complaint.

Sandmeyer told police he and the victim had consensual sex but said there were three occasions in which she was intoxicated and was “not fully present,” the court document says.

Conditional bail for Sandmeyer in both cases was set at $10,000. His next appearances for both cases are set for next month.
