Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two suspected drug traffickers from Rochester were busted during a traffic stop in Olmsted County Thursday morning.

Both men were arraigned on felony drug charges in Olmsted County Court on Friday morning. The suspected drugs were found in the spare tire area of the vehicle. 

The court document indicates the men were under police surveillance for several weeks and were seen making multiple drug trafficking trips to the Twin Cities for several weeks multiple times per week.

Members of the Rochester Police Department and other law enforcement agencies conducted the traffic stop north of Rochester in the area of Hwy. 52 and 85th St. Northwest around 12:20 Thursday morning.

23-year-old Omar Yasin Mohamed was identified as the driver. 24-year-old Seila Abdurahman Ibrahim was riding in the vehicle. 

The vehicle was the subject of a search warrant that was executed following the traffic stop.

Mohamed was arrested on an active Olmsted County arrest warrant and authorities found 16 M30 suspected fentanyl pills and 15 M15 suspected fentanyl pills during a search of his person, the complaint says.

Upon searching the vehicle, law enforcement discovered a Ziplock bag that contained suspected fentanyl pills that weighed 757 grams with packaging. The bag contained as estimated 7,000 to 7,500 fentanyl pills, the charges say. 

Also in the vehicle was a heat-sealed bag that was holding a brick of suspected cocaine. It weighed 268.8 grams with packaging.

Ibrahim and Mohamed were taken to the Olmsted County jail. Upon booking Ibrahim, law enforcement located 12 M30 fentanyl pills and 10.8 grams of cocaine in his groin area, the complaint says.

Both men are charged with two counts of first-degree drug sales and two counts of first-degree drug possession. 

Ibrahim’s bail was set at $200,000 without conditions and Mohamed’s bail was set at $500,000 without conditions.

Ibrahim is due back in court later this month and Mohamed’s next court appearance is scheduled for next month.
