Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Police Department is organizing a public informational meeting next week assist the parents of Sunset Terrace Elementary School students and other community members with concerns about an ongoing sexual abuse investigation.

Police Captain John Sherwin, in the video at the top of this post, explains the Rochester School District accepted an offer from the police department to have investigators and others available to respond to questions and provide some guidance for speaking to children and answering their questions about sexual abuse.

The meeting was organized in response to allegations that a former school district employee working as a teacher in the School Age Child Care Program at Sunset Terrace molested a young female student on multiple occasions. 29-year-old Nicholas Keller resigned in May, which is when Rochester police were first notified of the allegations against him.

The public meeting will take place at the school district’s Edison Building on October 4 beginning at 5 PM.
