Convicted Armed Robber Arrested with Gun in Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester Police arrested a convicted armed robber after reportedly finding a gun on him during a traffic stop.

Conditional bail for 29-year-old Charles Lewis was set at $50,000 Thursday. He’s facing a felony ineligible firearm possession charge following the late morning traffic stop on Wednesday.
The criminal complaint says Lewis was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a man that a Rochester police officer knew to have a revoked license. Two officers stopped and approached the vehicle in the 1700 block of North Broadway Ave. One of the officers saw what appeared to be the magazine of a gun in Lewis’s pocket, the complaint says.
The complaint says the officer reached into the vehicle and felt the apparent magazine in Lewis’s pocket. The complaint says Lewis exited the vehicle for a search and police seized a pistol, according to the complaint.
Court records show Lewis was convicted of armed robbery in Milwaukee in November 2014. Jail records show Lewis in custody at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center as of Friday morning.
