St. Paul, MN (Learfield News Service) - Minnesota lawmakers are getting a three-percent raise.

The Legislative Salary Council approved the $1500 pay increase during a meeting Friday. The council is made up of Minnesotans who do not serve at the State Capitol. It was established by voters in 2016.

The pay hike brings legislators' annual salary to $46,500. The council voted for the raise after months of deliberations.
