Austin, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two people were taken to a hospital following a crash at a southeast Minnesota interchange on Wednesday night.

Two cars were involved in the collision. Both drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles. 

The State Patrol responded to the crash around 10:20 p.m. and says the cars were traveling in opposite directions.

State Patrol: Man and Woman from Austin, MN Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash at Interstate 90 Interchange

A Chevy car traveling south on Hwy. 218 collided with a northbound car on 14th St. Northwest at the interchange with eastbound Interstate 90 in Austin, the state crash report indicates.

34-year-old Markeith Spencer was identified as the Chevy driver and 57-year-old Deborah Ann Deveza was driving the Volvo, according to the State Patrol. 

Spencer and Deveza, who are from Austin, were taken to the Mayo Clinic Austin Hospital for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Spencer was not wearing his seatbelt and alcohol was not involved in the collision, the state crash report says. 

Mayo Clinic Ambulance and the Austin Police Department also responded to the two-vehicle crash.
