Deadly Snowmobile Crash Near Leech Lake in Northern Minnesota
Walker, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in northern Minnesota say it is suspected that alcohol was a factor in a deadly snowmobile crash Friday night.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a snowmobile crash near Walker just before 9 PM Friday. The deputies and emergency responders found that a snowmobile had left a rural road and crashed into a snow embankment and some trees.
Sheriff Bryan Welk says first-aid was administered at the scene before the victim was transported to a hospital in Park Rapids, where he died from his injuries. His name has not been released, but the Sheriff indicated the victim was a 50-year-old man from Corpus Christi, Texas.

The deadly incident remains under investigation.
