Crash With School Bus in Southeast Minnesota Hospitalizes Four, Including Young Girl (Update)
Update: Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- Four people, including a young girl, were brought to a hospital following a collision between a school bus and sedan in Winona County Wednesday morning.
The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. on Stockton Hill on Hwy. 14 between Winona and Stockton. The collision closed Hwy. 14 for about two hours.
The State Patrol crash report says a sedan traveling east and a westbound school bus collided at the highway’s intersection with Ridgeview Rd., which is at the top of the hill.
The passengers on the bus were a 10-year-old girl from Goodview and 46-year-old Sara Jean Fennert of Winona. The woman, girl and the 64-year-old bus driver, identified as Theresa Ann Fedie of Winona, were taken to the hospital in Winona with what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The sedan driver has been identified as 62-year-old Robin Rae Thelen of Winona. She suffered what are being described as life-threatening injuries and was taken to a La Crosse hospital for further care.
Alcohol was not involved in the crash. The crash report says snow and ice was on the road.
The Winona County Sheriff’s Office, Lewiston Ambulance, Winona Ambulance, Gundersen Air and MnDOT also responded to the crash.

The crash scene is located on Hwy. 14 in Winona County between Stockton and Winona.
The Winona County Sheriff’s Office says westbound traffic is being diverted at Winona County Rd. 21 near the St. Mary’s University campus and eastbound traffic is being detoured in Stockton.
MnDOT’s traffic map indicates the crash occurred on Stockton Hill. There’s no word yet on the number of vehicles involved or if there are any injuries.
MnDOT estimates the closure will last until about 10 a.m.
