Egyptian Hospital Joins Mayo Clinic Care Network
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Mayo Clinic Care Network is expanding in the Middle East.
The Mayo Clinic today announced a new affiliation with a medical center in Cairo, Egypt. The Saudi German Hospital Cairo is the first health care provider in Egypt to join the network and the first on the African continent. The Mayo Clinic news release says joining the network will provide the patients and staff at Saudi German Hospital access to Mayo’s knowledge and expertise.
"Mayo Clinic is pleased to collaborate with Saudi German Hospital Cairo to share our knowledge and information," says David Hayes, M.D., medical director, Mayo Clinic Care Network. "Both organizations understand that collaboration is essential to bringing the best care to patients. We look forward to working closely together."
The Cairo hospital has 300 beds and offers medical services in a wide range of specialties and subspecialties, including critical care. It’s the third Middle Eastern Medical Center to join the Mayo Clinic Care Network. The others are in Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
