(St. Paul, MN) MNN --  A celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, sponsored by MnDOT, will feature the Commemorative Air Force Red Tail Squadron.

The CAF Red Tail Squadron is uniquely tied to Minnesota as the project was founded here and continues to operate here today.

A traveling exhibit entitled Rise Above, including showings of the film of the same name, will be housed near the Minnesota Capitol on John Ireland Boulevard in St. Paul.  The movie tells the story of the Tuskegee Airmen -- America's first black military pilots -- and their support personnel.

Eight of the Tuskegee Airmen pilots have called Minnesota home.
