Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A vehicle smashed into a restaurant in downtown Rochester Sunday afternoon.

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers responded to the incident around 3:30 p.m. 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates the vehicle traveling north on South Broadway Ave. when it hit a road barrier then drove up on the sidewalk.

It then crashed into the southwest corner of the Marrow Restaurant, which is in a building at the intersection of 4th St. Southeast and South Broadway.

The driver, described as a 73-year-old woman, told police the gas pedal of her vehicle got stuck. Her name has not been released. 

Grayson says there were people working in the Marrow kitchen at the time of the collision. No injuries were reported.

The majority of the damage is visible on the south-facing side of the building. A damage estimate is not available.

 

Caution tape remains up around the building as of Monday morning. The right turn lane from westbound 4th St. Southeast to South Broadway is closed.
