Eyota, MN (KROC AM News) - A fire that was reported Tuesday at a rural site near Eyota turned out to be a pretty expensive one.

The fire was reported around 3 a.m. at the site located in the 10,000 block of 20th Street SE, located between Eyota and Chester Woods Park.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department says crews from Dover and Eyota fought the blaze but the 60 by 90 foot pole shed was wiped out. Also destroyed were four trucks parked inside.

Embers from the blaze later started another building on the property on fire and it was a total loss. Three classic cars, a boat and other contents inside that building were also destroyed.

Department Captain Scott Behrns says the preliminary loss has been put at $500,000. He says the owner - Jason Severson - was out of town when the fire started.

The cause is under investigation.
