Eyota Man Arraigned On Child Sex Crime

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – An Eyota man was arraigned Thursday on a criminal sexual conduct charge involving a young girl.

Conditional bail for 36-year-old Michael Smith was set at $200,000. He was ordered back to court for another hearing on June 26th.

Smith was arrested at his home Tuesday. Olmsted County Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Behrns says investigators were contacted by the mother of the girl after she found evidence of the alleged abuse on his phone. It’s unknown when the alleged abuse took place.

Smith has also been charged with a child pornography-related count.
