Falcons Drub Saints, 45-32, on Monday Night Football
Devonta Freeman gained 152 yards on 14 carries and Tevin Coleman ran for three touchdowns, as the Atlanta Falcons routed the Saints, 45-32, in New Orleans on Monday night. The Saints remained winless on the season, including two home losses.
Atlanta (2-1) led 28-17 at the half and increased the lead to 35-17 early in the third quarter on Coleman’s third touchdown run of the game.
Trailing 38-25 in the fourth quarter, New Orleans (0-3) was deep in Falcons’ territory when Deion Jones intercepted a deflected Drew Brees’ pass and returned it 90 yards for a back-breaking touchdown that all but ended the game with 13 minutes to play.
Matt Ryan passed for 240 yards with two touchdowns for Atlanta.
Brees completed 36 of 54 passes for 376 yards, with three touchdowns and the costly interception for the Saints.
