Truck Driver Killed in Crash With Pick-up at Rural Minnesota Intersection
Maynard, MN (KROC-AM News)- A truck driver lost his life in a crash with a pick-up truck at a rural Minnesota intersection on Tuesday.
Both drivers were the lone occupants of their vehicles. The deadly crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m.
The State Patrol responded to the two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Chippewa County Rd. 4, which is about 25 miles southwest of Willmar.
The crash report indicates the semi was traveling east on Hwy. 7 and the pick-up was northbound on County Rd. 4 before colliding in the intersection.
59-year-old Timmy James Tarnowski of Pelican Rapids, MN was identified as the truck driver. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pick-up, identified as 32-year-old Georgii Gabiev of Brooklyn, NY, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for further care.
Gabiev was wearing his seatbelt and it’s unknown if Tarnowski was buckled. Alcohol was not involved in the deadly crash, the report says.
