50-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash With Crane Truck at Faribault Intersection

The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of 7th St. and Lyndale Avenue North.

A preliminary investigation found a pick-up truck crashed into the rear of the crane truck, which was stopped at a red light on southbound Lyndale Ave., at a “significant speed,” Faribault police say.

First responders found the driver of the pick-up suffering from critical injuries. He was also pinned in the vehicle, authorities say.

Members of the Faribault Fire Department extricated the pick-up driver and rushed him to the Faribault airport so he could be airlifted to a hospital in the Twin Cities.

Faribault police identified the pick-up driver as Jamie William Wright of Faribault. He was 50 years old.

The crane truck driver, identified as 25-year-old Ryan Allen Konkol of Farmington, was not hurt.
