Waseca, MN (MinnesotaNow)- A crash on a southern Minnesota highway has claimed the life of a Minnesota man.

He was the only occupant of the only vehicle involved. 

Preliminary information released by the State Patrol indicates first responders were dispatched to the deadly crash shortly after 2:00 Tuesday morning.

Driver Killed in Hwy. 14 Crash in Waseca County

The fatality occurred west on Hwy. 14 between Waseca and Janesville. A westbound SUV left the four-lane highway, the state crash report says. 

The State Patrol is describing the deceased driver as a 61-year-old man from Waseca. His name is scheduled to be released next week. 

The preliminary crash report does not say if alcohol was involved. It does say he was not wearing his seatbelt. 

Correction: A previous version of this story said the report did not say if the driver was buckled.
