Fire at Ozmun Building Demolition Site in Downtown Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Fire Department responded this morning to a demolition site in downtown Rochester.
A news release says firefighters were dispatched just before 10:30 AM to the Mayo Clinic Ozmun Building at 515 2nd Street Southwest. The structure is being torn down as part of Mayo Clinic's $5 billion Bold. Forward. Unbound. expansion project.
The Fire Department statement says the crews arrived and found smoke apparently coming from the top of the parking ramp at the site. They were then directed by the demolition crew to where the fire was likely located and went to work to extinguish the flames.

The news release also indicates that construction crews were actively putting water on the structure to limit the dust from demolition during the fire operation. No injuries were reported.
