Fire Concerns Continue in Southeast Minnesota

La Crosse, WI (KROC AM News) - The National Weather Service says elevated fire weather conditions will continue Monday across southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa, and southwest Wisconsin.

The agency says this is the result of low humidity levels, very warm temperatures, southerly winds gusting to 30 mph, and dry vegetation.  

The Weather Service expects the worst conditions to be from early afternoon through sunset. That’s when any fires that start could spread rapidly and become difficult to contain.

There will be chances of rain in the region this week which should help with the spring green-up.
