Former Rochester Treatment Center Employee Sentenced

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Zumbrota woman has been sentenced to five years on probation for engaging in a sexual relationship with a client at a Rochester treatment center.
34-year-old Amber Wenger was employed as a caregiver at the facility when she had sexual contact with the man multiple times beginning last November. She was charged with third and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and later entered into a plea agreement and admitted to the fourth-degree charge.
According to the criminal complaint, Olmsted County Sheriff's Office opened an investigation after receiving a report from Minnesota Adult Abuse Reporting about an incident at the Rochester treatment center. The client reported that he and Wegener engaged in sexual activity 8-10 times in his room.
The man also stated that Wagner brought him a cell phone so they could communicate and supplied him with a vape pen and CBD cartridges. The court document also says the man indicated that Wagner told him he would be kicked out of treatment if he told anyone about their relationship.
Her sentencing order includes a stayed 24-month prison sentence that could be activated if Wenger fails to meet the terms of her probation.
