Freeborn County Sheriff Reports Fatal Crash

Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Freeborn County Sheriff's Office has released information about a fatal traffic crash that occurred last Friday.

Sheriff Kurt Freitag says an Albert Lea woman died after her SUV left a rural road and rolled over. The vehicle ended up on its roof and partially submerged in a drainage ditch. The victim was identified as 74-year-old Joyce Chapek.

The news release says icy conditions were present when the crash occurred on Freeborn County Road 30 about 5 miles east of Albert Lea. The vehicle was discovered in the ditch shortly after 11 pm Friday.
