
Over $5,000 Worth of Products Stolen by Man Impersonating Rochester City Employee
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police are looking for a man who ripped off a Rochester tool store by impersonating a city employee.

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson said Friday that officers took the theft report on Wednesday.
The alleged theft involved an invalid purchasing order and the loss of thousands of dollars for the business.

Man Impersonating Rochester Public Works Employee Steals Pair of Generators form Acme Tools in Rochester
Grayson says the suspect called the Acme Tools store in Rochester claiming to be an employee of the Rochester Public Works Department.
He used an invalid purchase number to claim he had bought two generators during the phone call, police say.

The man then went to the store, located at 808 Apache Ln. Southwest, and picked up the generators.
Store staff learned the purchase number was invalid and that the man was not who he said he was after he left the store with the generators, Grayson says.
Police say each generator is estimated to be worth $2,800. The theft is under investigation.
