Girl Shot in Face With BB Gun – Rochester Man Pleads Guilty
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A guilty plea was entered today in a criminal case involving a Rochester man accused of shooting a girl in the face with a BB gun.
Confrontation at Rochester Park
According to the criminal complaint against 19-year-old Jayden Eric Scott, Rochester police responded on May 25, 2025, to a report of a BB gun shooting near Silver Lake Park. The court document says the responding officers spoke with a juvenile victim at the hospital, who stated that she was with friends at the park when Scott arrived in a vehicle.
Shot in the Face With BB Gun
The criminal complaint says she told police that she confronted Scott about an earlier incident in which he allegedly shot BBs at her home. She stated that Scott then threatened to shoot her if she did not back away from the vehicle. It was alleged that he counted down from five and shot the girl in the face multiple times with a BB gun while she was about five feet away.
Rochester police reported that two of the BBs became lodged in the girl’s face and required medical attention for removal.
Defendant Claimed He Felt Threatened
Court documents say police arrested Scott at his home, where he told officers he felt threatened by the group of people at the park and fired the BB gun in the victim’s direction.

Guilty Plea
He was charged with felony terroristic threats, misdemeanor assault, and a gross misdemeanor count of carrying a BB gun in public. Scott entered a guilty plea today to the felony threats charge. His trial had been scheduled to begin on Monday.
Scott is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
