GoFundMe Launched for Victim of Alleged Fatal Rochester Poisoning
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A GoFundMe has been launched for the victim in an alleged fatal poisoning case in Rochester.
32-year-old Betty Bowman went to a Rochester hospital after becoming ill this past August. The Wichita, Kansas native and Rochester pharmacist died in the hospital four days after being admitted.
The fundraising page says, “Betty was a light to so many people and words cannot express how much she will be missed.”
Donations are being accepted to help Betty’s mom Nancy cover costs associated with legal fees, transportation to Rochester, memorials, meals, bills, and anything else that may come up, the page says. A link to the fundraiser is available by clicking here.
Family and friends initially thought Betty died of natural causes, however an autopsy indicated that Betty may have been poisoned and described her manner of death as homicide.
Rochester Police then began an investigation into Betty’s death that led to the arrest of her husband, 30-year-old Connor Bowman, earlier this month in southwest Rochester.
Bowman was formally charged this past Monday with second-degree murder in connection to Betty’s death. Authorities say the charge could be elevated to first-degree murder if the case is presented to a grand jury.
Bowman remains in custody at the Olmsted County Jail on $2 million conditional bail. He's due back in court next month.
