Good Samaritan’s Swift Action Prevents Tragedy in Southeast Minnesota House Fire
Zumbrota, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities are crediting the quick actions of a good samaritan for preventing tragedy in a southeast Minnesota house fire.

The Zumbrota Police Department says an officer responded to the report of a house fire around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. The fire was reported by a person being described as a good samaritan.
A news release says the officer arrived at the scene 90 seconds after getting the call and reported seeing an active fire on the home’s exterior.
The fire was reported at the 300 block of 4th St. East in Zumbrota. The responding officer is seen on body camera video using their department-issued fire extinguisher to knock down the flames.
The Zumbrota Fire Department then arrived to confirm that the fire was out and that the flames did not spread from the outside of the home. Officials say the occupants of the home and their dog had evacuated from the structure by the time the officer arrived.
No injuries were reported and the home was allowed to be reoccupied once the fire was put out. A damage estimate and cause of the fire are not available.
