Gophers Crack Top 25 in AP and USA Today Polls
Minneapolis (Gophersports.com) - For the first time since 2013, the Minnesota men's basketball team was voted among the nation's top 25 teams. The Gophers (15-2, 3-1 B1G) sit in 24th place in the most recent Associated Press poll, as voted by a panel of national sports writers. Additionally, Minnesota checked into the USA Today Coaches Poll in 24th place.
Minnesota's last appearance in the AP Top 25 came on February 4, 2013, when the Gophers were voted 18th. That was also the Gophers' last appearance in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Gophers have won three in a row, including wins at Northwestern and at home over Ohio State this past week. Sitting among a four-way tie for first place in the Big Ten Conference, the Gophers currently hold the nation's No. 5 RPI according to the NCAA.
Minnesota returns to action on Wednesday night, traveling to Michigan State in East Lansing. KROC-AM will broadcast Wednesday evening's game beginning with the pregame show at 5:30 p.m.
