Greeks Reject Austerity Plan

ATHENS, Greece (AP) —Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is meeting with the leaders of six of the seven parties represented in Parliament to talk about the country's financial crisis.

Tsipras requested the meeting shortly after the majority of Greek voters rejected a proposal from the country's creditors for more austerity measures in return for more rescue loans.

France's finance minister says it's now up to Greece to come up with an offer to its creditors so that it can receive the bailout money.

Asian shares tumble

TOKYO (AP) — Asian shares tumbled today after Greece's voters vehemently rejected conditions set by its international creditors, deepening doubts over their future in the 19-nation eurozone.

China's benchmark initially rebounded from last week's heavy losses after regulators and the securities industry intervened to prop up the markets, but gave up those gains as the day wore on.

Japan's Nikkei, Hong Kong's Hang Seng and South Korea's Kospi a fell. China's Shanghai Composite index was up.
