Guilty Plea From Rochester Liquor Store Robber
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man will be sentenced in June for his role in a robbery at a local liquor last summer. 20-year-old Adam Hassan today into a plea agreement and admitted to aiding and abetting second-degree aggravated robbery and a felony count of soliciting a juvenile to commit a criminal act. 8 other felony charges were dismissed through the deal.
The police reports on the robbery say Hassan and a 17-year-old from Red Wing robbed Joe’s Liquor in July. Police say they made off with nearly $1,000 in cash and about $500 in liquor. The owner of the business told police the Red Wing teenager pointed a large knife at him before taking money from a cash drawer while Hassan filled a bag with liquor bottles.
The owner was able to identify the two even though they were wearing masks because he recognized Hassan as the person who visited the store earlier asking how much a bottle of Hennessy cost. The owner told him to leave because he had no ID. A police officer investigating the robbery also recognized Hassan from a surveillance video outside the store that showed him holding a bottle of liquor that had been stolen during the robbery.
