Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Olmsted County Judge has returned a guilty verdict against a Rochester man accused of a fatal shooting about two and a half years ago.

Judge Kathy Wallace found 26-year-old Sao Yim guilty of second-degree murder and a felony charge for the illegal possession of ammunition. The order was filed late Friday.

Yim was charged with shooting and killing 40-year-old Ahmed Muafaq Abdulhussein Al Naddf following a confrontation outside the victim's northwest Rochester apartment on March 12, 2018. Prosecutors allege Yim believed Al Naddf had bumped into his car, which was parked on the street that runs past the victim's residence.

Yim waived his right to a jury trial and agreed to have the judge render a verdict in this case. The judge took his fate under advisement after she heard testimony and reviewed the evidence in a court trial last month.

A sentencing hearing for Yim has yet to be scheduled.
