Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man ended up at St. Mary's Hospital Monday night after a brutal assault.

Police Captain John Sherwin says the 31-year-old was unresponsive when officers arrived behind the strip mall located on the east side of the15th Ave/11th St SE intersection around 9 p.m.

Witnesses told officers the attacker was stomping on the head of the victim.

The victim’s injuries were initially listed as life threatening but he has since been released from the hospital.
