Bloomington Man Charged with Burglary, Privacy Interference After Family Find Hidden Camera in Bathroom of Goodhue County Home

The Goodhue County complaint says the family and children got home early from school and found Knutson in their home uninvited. Knudsen told the mother and children that he was there looking for eggs for a coworker.

He later told investigators the door to the victim’s home was unlocked. After Knudsen left the family found a black wall charger with a hidden camera in it plugged into an outlet of a bathroom used by the children, the charges say.

The camera was facing the bathtub. There was also a wifi hotspot in the attic above the bathroom, the complaint says.

Following Knudsen’s arrest, authorities executed a search warrant on Knudsen’s phone after being informed of the hidden camera. Investigators were also told that Knudsen shared a hotel room with the victim’s family when they visited Rochester in early March.

The search of the phone revealed photos and videos of the young girl using a bathroom. Investigators also found a photo of a nude male next to nude female with the child’s face imposed over the face of the nude female, according to the Olmsted County complaint.

There were also multiple edited photos depicting girls believed to be 8-9 years old, according to the Olmsted County Court document.

During a second search of Knudsen’s phone, investigators found the "DiscreetCameraApp,” which is used for capturing photos and videos from a hidden camera, had been started at a Rochester hotel on the morning of March 8, the Olmsted County complaint says.

The app had multiple videos taken at the hotel’s pool area, hotel room and hotel room bathroom, including a video that depicted the two female family members using the bathroom, the charges say.

Knudsen is seen on video grabbing his phone, which the complaint says was angled towards the bathtub and toilet.
