High Speed Pursuit Near Oronoco
Oronoco, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff's office is looking for a suspected drunk driver who led a deputy on a chase in the Oronoco area last night.
Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns says the pursuit began around 9:15 p.m. after a deputy noticed the taillights were not working on a vehicle that had just passed him going in the other direction on White Bridge Road. When the deputy turned around and attempted to make a traffic stop, the motorist turned off onto Power Dam Road and sped away.
Captain Behrns says the pursuit then traveled along a couple of other rural roads back to White Bridge Road, where the deputy broke off the chase for safety reasons after the speeds involved hit an estimated 110 miles per hour. It was noted the deputy was able to get the license plate number of the vehicle as well as a description of the driver.
