Coleman had earlier been charged with criminal vehicular operation and DUI. Coleman admitted drinking and authorities are waiting for the results of a blood test to see what his alcohol level was at the time of the crash.

The complaint says Coleman was driving on Chisago Lake last Friday night when he struck 8-year-old Alan Geisenkoetter, Jr. and the boy’s father as they were preparing to ice fish. The snowmobile hit the family’s pickup truck and then dragged the boy, who was standing near the rear of the vehicle. It then hit the boy’s father, who was nearby setting up a portable fish house.

The boy suffered severe brain injuries and died Wednesday. His father was treated for non-life threatening injuries and Coleman suffered a broken arm.

During his arraignment, bail for Coleman was set at $75,000.

Coleman is also facing charges in an alcohol-related traffic wreck in Anoka in November. His blood/alcohol level was tested at .3 in that wreck.
