House Fire Near Oronoco Under Investigation

Oronoco, MN (KROC AM News) – The Minnesota State Fire Marshal's office is investigating a Thursday night fire near Oronoco that apparently wiped out a house.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says a passerby reported the fire around 9:00 PM from the 12,000 block of 18th Ave NW. The 38-year-old son of the homeowner told a deputy he had been burning trees and wasn’t aware the house had caught fire until first responders arrived.

Investigators were expected to return to the site Friday.
