Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash on Hwy. 14 sent a Rochester man to the hospital early Saturday.

He was the only person driving the only vehicle involved. The State Patrol responded to the crash near Rochester shortly before 2:30 a.m.

48-Year-Old Rochester Man Injured in Crash on Hwy. 14 Near Chester Woods Park

The single-vehicle crash occurred between Rochester and Chester Woods Park. 

An eastbound SUV swerved and collided with the guardrail, causing the vehicle to land in the ditch, according to the state crash report. 

48-year-old Yussuf Salah Diriye was identified as the SUV driver. He was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol says. 

Diriye was wearing his seatbelt and was not under the influence of alcohol, the state crash report says.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester Fire Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance responded to the single-vehicle crash.

The Kiwanis Holiday Light Display is free, but cash and non-perishable food donations are accepted. All money collected is given to area non-profits. Since opening in 2012 the event has raised nearly $800,000 for local charities.
