48-Year-Old Man Parked on Shoulder Dies After Being Struck on Hwy. 169 in Shakopee

Shakopee, MN (MinnesotaNow)- A Twin Cities man was killed after his vehicle was struck while he was parked on the shoulder of a freeway.

The State Patrol responded to the deadly collision shortly before 2:00 Friday morning. The victim of the fatal incident had three passengers with him.

48-Year-Old Minneapolis Man Parked on Shoulder of Hwy. 169 Dies After Vehicle is Hit by SUV

A Nissan SUV was parked on the right-hand shoulder of southbound Hwy. 169 at the County Rd. 21 interchange in Shakopee. The state crash report says a southbound BMW SUV struck the victim. 

48-year-old Abdulahi Mohamed Siad of Minneapolis was identified as the driver of the Nissan. The State Patrol says he got out of the vehicle before getting hit. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Passengers & Other Driver Avoid Injury

His passengers, identified as 24-year-old Olivia Jean Moe of Prior Lake, 21-year-old Lucy Lynn Olson of Inver Grove Heights and 23-year-old Brooke Elizabeth Theisen of Prior Lake were not injured, according to the State Patrol. 

18-year-old Fabian Mauricio Ventura of Shakopee was identified as the BMW driver. 

The State Patrol says he was not injured and was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Alcohol was not a factor in the deadly crash, the state crash report says.
