Iowa Grandma’s Lottery Win: A Heartwarming Tribute with Her Jackpot
I don’t often buy scratch-off tickets, and when I do, I usually don’t win. However, I love hearing about people who hit the jackpot and what they plan to do with their newfound wealth.
If you won a huge lottery prize, what would you do? I think a lot of people would probably start by paying off debt or their mortgage and spend what's left on fun things like vacations or home improvements. Last September, a woman in Iowa had a life-changing experience with a scratch-off ticket and knew right away how she wanted to use her winnings.

Lisa Johns, a 66-year-old grandmother and retired postmaster from Creston, Iowa, stopped by her local Casey’s General Store and decided to buy a scratch-off ticket.
That day, luck was on her side. When she scratched the ticket, she discovered she had won an impressive $50,000!
Lisa was very excited and went to collect her prize at the Iowa State Lotto headquarters. When asked about her plans for the money, she immediately shared a very touching answer.
Lisa told them she would buy a “Harley Trike” to honor her late husband, Sterling. They were passionate motorcycle riders, and after he passed away a couple years ago, she gave his motorcycle to their son.
When asked about returning to the road with friends she said, “I can’t wait.” I'm sure that her husband would be smiling down on her as she embarks on this new adventure!
