The local casinos have been on an absolute tear lately. Following yesterday’s report of a $215,000 winner at Diamond Jo, another massive payout has been confirmed, this time just up the road at Treasure Island Resort & Casino.

On Valentine’s Day, eight lucky players at "Table 4" proved that sometimes, losing is actually the best way to win. See how much each person sitting at that poker table and the massive amount the 'loser' took home below.

Treasure Island Resort and Casino Awards $217K to Players After Brutal Bad Beat

In the poker world, a "Bad Beat" happens when an incredibly strong hand (four-of-a-kind or better) is somehow beaten by an even stronger hand. At Treasure Island, this triggers a massive progressive jackpot that hasn't been touched in over two years.

The record-breaking jackpot had been climbing for over two years, finally hitting a massive $217,490.25 during a wild showdown at Table 4.

The board showed a six of clubs, three of hearts, seven of diamonds, seven of hearts, and a six of spades, which set the stage for the ultimate "bad beat." A player holding pocket sixes ended up with four-of-a-kind, only to be crushed by another player holding pocket sevens. Because such a strong hand was beaten, the "Bad Beat" was triggered, and everyone at the table walked away a winner.
