AURORA, Minn. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a woman who was shot and killed at an American Legion post on northeastern Minnesota's Iron Range.

East Range police say 49-year-old Julie Ann Hildreth of Aurora was shot Sunday shortly after 9 p.m. at the Aurora post in St. Louis County. A 51-year-old man who is known to the woman was arrested and taken to the St. Louis County Jail.

Hildreth was transported to Northern Pines Essentia Health hospital where she died of her injuries. An autopsy confirmed she was killed by a single gunshot. Her death was ruled a homicide.
