Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Is a well-known Rochester developer working on a plan for the AMPI site along S. Broadway?

The issue first surfaced at Tuesday’s meeting of the Olmsted County Board during a briefing on DMC activity.

The board was told Titan Development has a contract to purchase the AMPI site, although nothing has been finalized at this point. Titan is controlled by the Chafoulias family, which owns and operates hotels and other properties in the city.

City and DMC officials have been working on a long-range that includes the stretch of the Zumbro River in the downtown.

A recent controversial plan to convert the former KMart site into a parking facility for Mayo Clinic employees led to further discussions that included Titan. The owner of the KMart property has indicated it will be developed. The AMPI property is sandwiched between the KMart site and a parking lot owned by Mayo Clinic known as the Fullerton lot.

The owners of the dairy operation based at the AMPI site announced last year it was shutting down and there were no plans for its future.
