Kwik Trip Says Goodbye To Roller Grills
We've all gotten used to the Kwik Trip experience. If you want hot food on the spot, you can get it.
But it looks like there will be one thing disappearing from Kwik Trip stores soon. The question is, will you miss it?
WHAT IS DISAPPEARING FROM KWIK TRIP?
On September 21st, Kwik Trip locations will be removing the Roller Grills. Anytime you walk around a Kwik Trip store, you can find plenty of options. Sandwiches and salads in one section; rolls and donuts fresh from the bakery section; grocery items on the other side of the store; and behind the hotspot, typically you see hot dogs and brats heated up and ready to go on the roller grills.

GOODBYE ROLLER GRILLS
If you've been accustomed to the self-serve roller grills, where you grab a bun from the nearby steam drawer, then select the hotdog you want off of the rolling metal grill, and then top it with a variety of condiments and head off to the register, Kwik Trip has made the decision to remove the roller grills, so the next time you stop by, you won't be able to find them.

CHANGING LOCATIONS
But that doesn't mean the items Kwik Trip has been serving on the roller grills are disappearing. In fact, none of them are. They are just changing locations.
I reached out to a local Kwik Trip Kitchen staff member and asked why they were getting rid of the grillers.
WASTED FOOD
He said that they end up wasting a lot of food on the roller grill. One of the reasons why? They believe that since they are usually located behind the hotspot, many people never see them. People are so busy looking at all the options in the hotspot that they never even consider going to the other side before they find something that satisfies their appetites.
THE NEW APPROACH
The new approach will be to remove the grillers, place the hot dogs in buns, wrap them, and put them in the hotspot with the other hot food items.
The extra good news? All foods currently offered on the griller will be available at the hotspot location.
Now the only question I have is: are the roller grills moving into the kitchen? Will the dogs and brats still be grilled in the kitchen before making their way to the hotspot?
I guess we will have to wait and see later this month.
