Two "Jaws of Life" Tools Stolen from Randolph-Hampton Fire District, Public Help Sought
The Randolph-Hampton Fire District was victimized by the theft. It’s a volunteer department that rosters 32 members and covers an area of about 70 square miles, according to the agency’s website.
The department shared photos of the equipment, which appear to be the “jaws of life” tools that are commonly used to extricate accident victims who are trapped in their vehicles.
Two of the tools have gone missing, the post says. Authorities said the suspected theft occurred in May.
Officials are asking anyone who has information on what happened or who may encounter the tools to contact the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.
“Your assistance means everything to us and to the safety of our community. Thank you for keeping an eye out,” the post says.
Update: a previous version of this story said law enforcement did not say when the theft occurred.
