Culver’s Is Opening Another New Minnesota Restaurant
Culver's is the home of the famous ButterBurger and has also been called the home of America's Best Burger. And now the restaurant chain is once again expanding its presence in Minnesota with a new location under construction.
To say hamburgers are one of our favorite foods here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes and across the country might be a bit of an understatement. A good burger might be our FAVORITE food overall. Because here in the U.S., we eat a LOT of them!
Yahoo News reports that Americans consume over 50 billion hamburgers every year. (Yes, that's a billion, with a 'b'!) If you do the math on that number, it means, on average, Americans will eat 2.4 burgers every day. And we've loved burgers for a fairly long time, too. Yahoo says the first burger was sold back in 1904 at the St. Louis Louisiana Purchase Exposition.

There are, of course, a lot of places that will sell you a burger these days. But only one of them has been called America's Favorite Burger-- and there are 66 places you can get your hands on one here in the North Star State, though there's soon set to be one more.
Culver's Was Named Home of America's Favorite Burger
So which burger IS America's Favorite? According to Eat This, Not That!, that title goes to Culver's-- which was founded across the Cheddar Curtain over in Sauk City, Wisconsin. According to their survey, Culver's scored highest among America's burger chains in terms of customer satisfaction, allowing them to walk away with the title of America's Best Burger.

Specifically, Eat This, Not That! said Culver's placed first in their survey for several reasons:
Culver's wowed the guests who dined at its 882 locations, averaging an impressive score of 4.34 out of 5. To put it in perspective, Sonic Drive-In came in second with a much lower 3.69 average rating.
As we mentioned, Culver's was founded in America's Dairyland and celebrated its 40th anniversary two years ago. The very first Culver's opened back in 1984 and has expanded to 143 stores in its home state. Across the Midwest, you can also find Culver's locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, and South Dakota.

Where Minnesota's Newest Culver's Is Being Built
And there will soon be another Culver's in Minnesota. According to a Facebook post by Dakota County Commissioner Joe Atkins, a new Culver's is currently under construction in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. It's located just east of Highway 52 and Upper 55th Street along Blaine Avenue, just south of and across the street from Applebee's.
Atkins said that the owners, who are also apparently part of the same ownership group that owns the Culver's in West St. Paul, broke ground on the new restaurant on June 10, 2026, and are still on track to open this location sometime this fall.
While Culver's is a well-known name in Minnesota, ranking just behind it in the Eat This, Not That! America's Best Burger survey was Sonic, Mooyah, Five Guys, and Fuddruckers. And while some of those chains might be a bit unfamiliar, keep scrolling to check out the most popular and well-known brands in the U.S.
