The judge granted an injunction to Water Gremlin Thursday, but ordered it closed for another 24 hours while the company develops a plan to reopen. The judge said operations could resume on a reduced operational level this weekend. The plant is normally closed on Saturday and Sunday.

The company uses lead to make car battery terminals and fishing weights. Investigators say workers were bringing lead dust home on their shoes and clothing and that 12 children had lead poisoning.

Labor and Industry Commissioner Nancy Leppink temporarily closed the White Bear Township company earlier this week. Both sides return to court Nov. 6.
