Jury Returns Guilty Verdict in Rochester Rape Trial
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Olmsted County jury late Friday afternoon returned a guilty verdict against one of two men accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile girl in Rochester two years ago
The jury found 24-year-old Timothy Bremer guilty of attempted first-degree criminal sexual conduct and second-degree criminal sexual conduct for the attack on the victim at his residence in January 2021. He is scheduled to be sentenced in March.
According to the criminal complaint, the teenage girl was exchanging text messages with Bremer when she agreed to visit him at his apartment to smoke marijuana on the afternoon of January 30. When she arrived at the residence, she discovered another man was there and went with Bremer into his bedroom because she felt uncomfortable.
The court document alleged that Bremer began trying to have sex with her and she responded by trying to push him away. She also told investigators that when she got up and tried to leave the room, Bremer positioned himself between her and the door before the second man, identified in the complaint as 26-year-old Dejuan Gray, entered the room and the two men assaulted her.
The girl told investigators she eventually had an opportunity to flee and was able to run out of the apartment to her vehicle. She shared a text message with investigators from Bremer in which he accused the victim of lying about his involvement in the incident.
Gray faces the same charges and is currently scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial hearing in January.
