Gordon Hannah Jr. obtained the remains of his father Monday and buried him with full military honors at Fort Snelling on Wednesday.

Hannah's father went missing during a battle in South Korea and ended up in a prisoner of war camp. The Hannah family learned in 1953 that he had died of dysentery two years previously. His remains were recovered in 2000 during the evacuation of a burial site.

Hannah received a call in late November saying his father had been located.

He tells KSTP-TV that he has prayed during his lifetime that his father would be found and brought home.

Nearly 8,000 Americans who served in the Korean War are still unaccounted for.
