MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The family of a man killed in the 2012 office shooting at Accent Signage Systems in Minneapolis has reached a settlement with the company.

Details were not disclosed. Plaintiff's attorney Phil Villaume confirmed Monday that the case had been resolved by mutual agreement within the last couple of weeks.

Thirty-four-year-old Jacob Beneke was one of five people killed by Andrew Engeldinger before Engeldinger took his own life on Sept. 27, 2012. It was Minnesota's deadliest office shooting.

Beneke's family sued Engeldinger's estate and Accent Signage, alleging the company should have known Engeldinger was a potential danger. Last summer, a judge threw out the claims against the gunman's estate but allowed two negligence counts against the company to proceed.

Messages left with a spokeswoman for Accent Signage were not immediately returned.
