Kasson, MN (KROC-AM News) - A longtime area judge has passed away.

An obituary posted by the Dibble Funeral Home says Lawrence Agerter died at his home in Kasson last Friday. He was 80 years old and had been ill with COPD.

Agerter graduated from the William Mitchell Law School in 1968 and served as the Dodge County Attorney in the early 1970s before he was appointed as a judge for the Third Judicial District by Governor Wendell Anderson in 1976. He heard countless cases in both Dodge and Olmsted Counties during his 34 years as a District Judge.

The obituary indicates a memorial service will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
