Man Accused of Groping Young Girl at Rochester Apartment Complex

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man was arrested over the weekend in connection with a sexual encounter with a young girl reported at an apartment complex.

Rochester Police Lt. Jennifer Hodgeman said officers responded to the apartment complex around 2 p.m. on Saturday. The initial call for service was described as an unknown problem. 

Upon arrival, officers took the report that a man had sexual contact with an 11-year-old girl. The report indicated the contact happened in the hallway of an apartment complex in the 1400 block of 4th Ave. Southeast. 

Upon further investigation officers identified the suspect as 39-year-old Ahmed Barow. Hodgeman says he was arrested in the area of the alleged groping. 

Barow was jailed on suspicion of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. Hodgeman says the young girl does not know him. 

He is awaiting arraignment in Olmsted County Court. Hodgeman says investigators are hoping to follow up with the young girl.
