Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester convenience store was robbed Thursday by a man armed with a box cutter.

Police say the man walked into the Shell Gas N Go store at 3610 E River Rd NE around 2:15 pm and asked the female clerk for some cigarettes.

When she turned around, the man was holding the box cutter and demanded money from the till.

The employee complied and gave the man some money. But he then reached into the cash register and grabbed some more before he ran from the store.

He was seen getting into a black late-model Ford F-150 pickup truck with chrome trim and tinted windows. The man then drove off south on E. River Rd.

The man was described as black, 5-6 to 5-8 feet tall, 170 to 195 pounds with facial hair.
